5 Proven Tactics To Increase Email Clickthrough Rate

If your readers aren’t inspired with your email subject lines, they won’t bother opening the email content, and you’ll be wasting your time.

In this short post, I’ll be sharing on some killer email marketing tips that’d boost your click through rate.

Without mincing words, here’re some tips to acknowledge when optimizing your subject lines.

1. Test Wording Style… Tweak From Time To Time

If your email contents are boring, your subscribers won’t bother reading.

Always test different headlines, and go for the effective ones.

Try writing provocative statements and headlines.

You could use headlines like, ‘’ I Stopped A Million Dollars Fraud Today, or, ‘’ This Webinar is open for 8 hours’’. Use scarcity statements.

Use ‘’catchy’’ headlines that’d compel them to take immediate action.

Of course, your headline should be in line with your email content; if it’s not, then you’re on a ‘’long thing’’.

2. Split Test

Yeah… I love this!

What works for me might not work for you. It’s the same with email marketing. What works for one type of email campaign might not work for another, so always test different headlines.

Test 4-5 subject lines (and note the amount of people that clicks through each).

Pro tip: don’t aim for 2-3 subject lines…. Pick 10 and test 2 …. Then pick the winning subject lines

3. Use Engaging Call To Actions

The wordings of your call to actions matter.

If they’re not compelling, your subscribers may not click through your link.

Spend time when writing call to actions.

Make them inspiring, intriguing, compelling, and EYE KILLING.

Your call to actions must be ACTION BASED and no ‘’click here’ buy here’’—very uninspiring.

4. Don’t Include Too Many Call To Actions

If you don’t want a large number of your fans to unsubscribe from your email list, then minimize the number of call to actions in your email content.

The more you include (more call to actions), the more you risk causing your subscribers not clicking on the most relevant ones.

5. 50 Characters Is Best

Studies have shown that email subject lines with less than 50 characters convert well.

Because of this, you must ensure your subject lines are below or within 50 characters.

Always put your most important words towards or in the beginning of the subject line.
